The Zoomify Converter The Zoomify Converter enables one-step, drag-and-drop conversion of high-quality images to support zoom-and-pan viewing and on-the-fly, on-demand, downloading of image content. To use the Converter, double-click the Converter icon and use the File| Open menu to select a JPG, TIF, or BMP source image file to convert. Or, simply drag any your source image file onto the onto the clearly labeled drop zone of the converter dialog. A visual display will show conversion progress. When the conversion completes, locate the new folder the converter has created. You will find it directly next to the original source image (that is, in the same folder as the source image). The new folder will have the same name as the source image - without any three letter extension ('.jpg', '.tif', '.bmp'). The new folder IS your new Zoomify Image. It is NOT necessary to view or modify the contents of the new folder. The XML file and subfolder containing numerous small JPEG image files are for the use of the Zoomify Image Viewer, not a web designer or web site manager. To publish the new Zoomify Image simply copy the folder (the entire folder, not just its contents) to your web server along with the Zoomify Image Viewer JavaScript file. Then create a web page (html file) and copy it to the server as well. These three items are all that is needed - your Zoomify Image folder, the ZoomifyImageViewer.js file, and a web page HTML file. The web page must include three simple lines to tell it where to find the Viewer file and the image folder - and where in the page to display the image. Numerous examples are provided in the main product folder. Additional detailed steps are provided in the User's Guide as well as on the Support page of the Zoomify web site (http:www.zoomify.com/support.htm). PLEASE NOTE: if you are using an operating system that pre-dates Windows XP or OS X v10.5 you may need the prior version of the Zoomify Converter. Simple contact us at support@zoomify.com and we'll provide it to you.
